It's not every day you get to photograph such an intimate, and secret, wedding. Sophie & Memphis eloped, and I was one of the very few to know! They married at the Eastbourne Registry Office in March last year, with just their little girl Alabama, and Sophie's parents to witness the occasion. I had previously photographed the family of three at Alexandra Park and was truly touched they asked me to photograph their special day.
Knowing Sophie & Memphis have individual and cool style, I knew this wedding would be colourful and spectacular. Sophie's beautiful flowers, and Memphis' buttonhole were created by La Collina Gardens in Bexhill. How many brides can pull of bright white hair, red lipstick, a blue lace dress and pink Vivienne Westwood shoes?! One little girl even commented that Sophie looked like Queen Elsa from Disney's Frozen, I couldn't agree more.
After their truly personal ceremony, where Sophie & Memphis read their own vows, we decided to shoot some portraits in the Italian gardens on Eastbourne seafront. The mock-theatre hidden below the cliffs gave a dramatic backdrop which matched their quirky style.
Sophie & Memphis have recently introduced their second baby girl to the family, Bibi Nova, who just like her big sister, is as cute as a button! Congratulations to you, lovely little family xx
