Wedding in Shoreditch and Camden - Lauren & Lewis
I love that weddings come in all shapes and sizes, and was thrilled when Lauren and Lewis asked me to photograph their special wedding celebrations earlier this year, I knew it was going to be fun!
Following their elopement to New York, the pair arranged a party for their friends and family in Camden, London. I joined Lauren as she and her closet friends got ready at the Ace Hotel, Shoreditch, before going to the Prince Albert, Camden as her groom and guests arrived.
I loved their choice of details, from the deep velvet roses from Rebel Rebel for the bouquets and buttonholes, to the red lace bridesmaid dresses. Lauren's dress was a beautiful beaded number from Needle and Thread. The Prince Albert was the perfect setting for a party, with a cosy, friendly atmosphere, full of candles and pretty little white flowers.
Lauren said: "We wanted to honour our east end roots (families) and us meeting in the east end by throwing a cockney knees up full of love for everyone we love. The fact it was actually in Camden though is a little thumbs up for the little Lauren whose always loved Camden & north London."
This wedding party had so much laughter and love in it, it was a truly laid-back and personal celebration. Lauren and Lewis set the tone for the evening with their first dance to Aretha Franklin's 'Say A Little Prayer'. Lewis' PhD pal rapped his speech, and their best women Becca and Lou sang theirs with help from a ukelele. Following cake and fizz, Lauren and Lewis created playlists for each other featuring their favourite music, which went down a storm, everyone danced the night away!
