We photographers love to flex our creative muscles, meet new photographer pals and have a bit of a laugh doing it.

Photography Farm is a fantastic collective of like-minded photographers, with workshops, shoot days and online training aimed at helping us be the absolute best we can be. Photography is a craft you never stop learning, there’s always something new to try, a new angle, a new technique, a new way to look at something….
After doing some workshops at the Photography Farm Farmers Market in October 2018, I knew I wanted to take part in one of their renowned ‘shoot days’ - a WHOLE DAY of mini styled shoots led by amazing photographers at the top of their game. Naturally, I signed up for their April shoot day and was not disappointed!

The first shoot session of the day was led by the talented Lisa Jane and Lee Allan.
Lisa is an absolute master (mistress??!) at helping her couples feel relaxed, the way she captures intimacy is unparalleled.
Lee is a master of light, finding those clever little tricks and pockets of perfect light to enhance, or even totally create a scene.
Our models, Rose and Jack, were unbelievably fab at being in front of 10 or so photographers at once! Such a truly sweet young couple, crazy in love.
We snapped away in the woods, finding those pockets of light under the trees, followed by some shots inside with the most glorious window light in a tiny corner of a hallway.
Just goes to show you that you can create intimate, beautiful shots with limited light and location.

The second shoot of the day was a Bridal shoot with a modern, rock and roll flair (totally apt as the location used to be a recording studio where Queen recorded Bohemian Rhapsody!)
Led by Matt Parry, Matt’s photography is certainly anything but ‘ordinary’, so to watch him snap away and make it look so easy yet capturing shots I hadn’t ‘seen’ in front of me was pretty awesome.
We started the session in the woods, and at a ceremony spot with tree stumps for seats….
Our model Marlene was absolutely REGAL!!
If you can guess how I achieved the first shot of this set, gold star for you ;)

I will never, ever look at tennis courts the same way again! Marlene was a total pro, I can’t begin to tell you how HOT it was at this point of the afternoon!
I took this opportunity to try some different framing and composition…

For the third part of this shoot, we headed indoors to find some gorgeous window light….
This pushed me to go towards a dark and moody vibe and edit which I LOVE.

For the final shoot of the day, Rebecca Carpenter set up a gorgeous boho style picnic.
Rebecca’s imagery is absolutely gorgeous, romantic, light and intimate. To watch her work was such a treat!
Rose and Jack were absolutely perfect as models for us again, I was getting real Stevie Nicks vibes from Rosie’s dress.
