My story with photography began with a Praktica film camera from my Grandad, and a Minolta film camera from my Dad, and I started to experiment with macro film photography and all the delights the darkroom had to offer.
I photograph weddings and families because these are the photographs we all love to look through, time after time. Photographs from generations past stir something within us, weddings days, family holidays, those random photos from your childhood. Some of my favourites are me and my sister dressed as witches wearing black bin bag dresses, a huge red jellyfish we found on holiday in Cornwall, and being bridesmaid for my aunty when I was about 4 years old (hello huge ruffled pink satin dress)…
I love to get to know my couples before your day so that I really become a part of your gang. Not only do I love an excuse for a good natter with you and your guests, but it helps create relaxed and beautiful photos too.
I live in Hastings with my husband and our two rescue cats who are very grumpy and soppy at the same time (the cats and husband). In 'past lives' I've been an English teacher, journalist and editor, but discovered that nothing makes me happier than taking photos!I love cake but I hate baking, I am terrible at it. My husband often says ‘you could burn salad’, it’s true. I am a huge film fan, I wouldn’t like to take a guess at how many films I have watched but once I’ve found a favourite I will watch it over and over. If we get the chance to talk about films, I doubt I will stop talking about it for a long time.
It's not really about me though, it's about the people I get to photograph and what they say about me:
"Her style is beautiful, so light and creative. She has such a talent for capturing all those moments and so much more"
"Being photographed was effortless and it felt like we were with an old friend that the girls had known forever"
I can't wait to hear about your day!
