Legal Basis for Processing Your Information (feeling a bit Judge Judy here)

The legal basis for processing your information is:

  • Your consent provided by requesting my email newsletter, or providing me with an email address or phone number to answer your query.

  • Our legitimate interests to operate and manage the website.

How and Where Do I Store Your Data? (the stuff I really need to work with you)

I do not store anything other than necessary data in order to provide you with the best service and educational/legitimate materials to your experience with me.

Katie Rogers Photography will only use the information supplied by your chosen contact method to respond to your enquiry. I aim to respond within 24 hours, and follow up 1 week after. If I don't hear from you, your details will be deleted from my work system and I will not contact you again.  If you book with me, your data will be stored in my work system until we have finished our agreement and then deleted.

Your personal data is stored on encrypted and password protected hard drives and computers or a safe, purpose built database. All data that is stored online is locked behind a strong password. Any data on my phone is also password protected. Hard drives and computers are all stored behind locked doors, unless out and about with me.

Your data may be shared with third parties as part of our working agreement and for me to produce your final photos/product package/online gallery. Check the Third Party Data Use section below.

Some data may be stored outside the European Economic Area (EEA). This includes the online gallery provider Pixieset. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. I will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy and in compliance with all relevant UK data protection legislation.

Your Images (they’re so pretty!)

During your wedding/shoot:
Photographs are captured on up to two cameras (up to 8 SD memory cards).

After your wedding/shoot:
These photographs are copied to two hard drives for protection during the editing and processing period. Once edited, images will be stored on the Pixieset online gallery service where you can view and download them via an online password protected portal. A second copy of all edited images will be transferred to a USB stick and posted to you. I will then delete all files on my hard drives one calendar year after your wedding date. All SD cards will be cleared after the images have been provided to you by online gallery/USB. I will contact you to advise when they need to deleted from Pixieset to make sure you have downloaded/printed copes from this service if you wish.

My main marketing tool is my photography, so I love to share my favourite images! I will share them on my social media profiles, in printed marketing, in competitions, and of course on my website.

Your images may also be shared with other GDPR compliant blogs and vendors, with your explicit permission.

I will confirm you are happy for your images to be shared in this way (no one wants their happy sweaty drunk dancing face appearing around town ;) Well some people do and that’s cool too!

Your Rights (not including your right to party, though that is important too)

Your Right to Confirmation: You are welcome to get in touch at any point to ask questions about how your data is handled and kept secure. I’m always happy to answer any queries that you may have.

Your Right to Access: You can request a report on all data of yours that I hold. This will be supplied as an electronic document.

Your Right to Rectification: You can also get in touch at any point to ask me to modify any of your stored data. In fact, I would really recommend doing so. If you have a change of address, phone number, etc please do let me know so I can keep my records up to date!

Your Right to Deletion: Under EU law you have the right to request to have your data deleted by me. If you wish to go ahead with this please just email me at katierogersphotography@outlook.com to ask me. I’ll be happy to provide proof of deletion afterwards. Please keep in mind that this will also mean I have no backup copies of your images anymore, so please ensure you have reliable backups of your pictures stored elsewhere.

Third Party Data Use (It’s good to share, sometimes!)

Your information will not be shared with third parties, unless relevant to our working together (I don’t share your information with any old person).
This can include printers, software, blogs etc.  I ensure that all companies that I work with are also GDPR compliant, and will not use your data other than for it’s intended use. Your data will also only be passed on with your explicit consent.
